The day before I left Paris (for Africa), a vegan restaurant opened on the Boulevard Beaumarchais up road a few blocks from Bastille. Called ‘The Loving Hut’, it is run by followers of the Vietnamese meditation leader the Supreme Master Ching Hai. There is little sign of this at the restaurant other than logos, and the food is modern ‘French vegan’ (almost an oxymoron). We were happy with the food and desserts and will be going again if they are still there when we return.

Hi Emily.

Unluckily didn’t read your post before I went to the restaurant on 21st of December to have the same impression as you. Very unfortunate that is now meat-friendly however as you say some vegan dishes are left in the menu, not many but at least some, even desserts, and clearly labelled… However to me the atmosphere has changed a little bit as before I really felt eating in a vegan flagship restaurant in the heart of Europe but now just feels like being in an average vegan friendly place….
